Arunoday was founded on 4th January 1998. Rt. Rev. Stainlaus Fernandes the then Bishop of Ahmedabad blessed and inaugurated the home. The home was named as Arunoday which means rising sun, and new manifestation of love and service for the poor of all communities. The deep desire of the centres was to foster national integration and communal harmony in the troubled torn in Gujarat. The sisters are actively involved in various humanitarian activities.

Organizing capacity/leadership building programmes for women, children, young girls and youth.
Conducting Inter religious dialogue, awareness programmes to promote harmony and tranquility, celebrating various festivals of different religion to encourage integration.
Self Help groups and women’s groups are formed to educate and empower them.
Conducting tailoring classes for girls and women, Educational Aid is given to attain vocational training, such as Computer, Para-medical training, Hena and Beauty Culture. Remedial classes are conducted for the poor children.
Various programmes are conducted on special occasions like Christmas, Deepavali, Navratri to promote communal harmony as the place is prune to such catastrophic happenings.
